STEERING COMMITTEE

Set up under the plans for the launch of the new MIF in 2000, the Steering Committee is the top-level group, which guides the business of the MIF, between plenaries. A Summary of its activities is set out below, together with a list of its members.

The process of re-launching of the New Maritime Industries Forum, started at the Plenary Session in June at Helsinki, took another major step forward on 23rd November, with the first meeting of the newly formed Steering Committee, created to guide the work of the Forum between its Plenaries. 

The Steering Committee has met twice since then, during May and September 2001, particularly to approve the plans for the Plenary Session and to adopt new Members of the Forum. Highlights of the Steering Committee Meetings are contained in the MIF Newsletters. Otherwise, the Co-ordination Group continues to oversee the day-to-day work of the Forum, and the management of its Working Groups.
